The studio is here!

I finally have a studio! No, it's not in my house. I am so excited to present it. Today will be my first gig in my new studio. I plan on making a few changes to the rest of the space but here is my vanity area!

The address for my studio is:

Located in the Walker Springs Shopping center, right beside Rugged Wearhouse & the Rush. Studio is located inside of the Premier Martial Arts building.

Also, eyebrow threading will be available soon!

Community Networking

Hey, Everyone. I just got home from dropping business cards at several businesses in Knoxville. Community networking is a great way to trade business and market with other local businesses. It's excellent for reaching out to new clients. I collected business cards and plan on putting them in a prefered vendors list and displaying them in my soon-to-be studio.

If you are a local business that is interested in community networking give me a call at 951.595.1101. We can trade business cards and fliers to reach Knoxville and surrounding areas!

How I wash my make-up brushes...

I am obsessed with having clean, sanitary products, whether it be make-up or the brushes I use to apply it.

Here are my steps to clean brushes:

1. I turn the water on hot and rinse the brushes.

2. One by one I apply shampoo to each brush and work up a lather. I use Just the Basics for dry hair which can be purchased at CVS for under $3.

3. I rinse each brush with warm water to get them clean and then switch the water to cold to make them soft.

4. After I wash them, I squeeze the excess water out and rub the hair of each brush on a towel to dry them a bit.

5. Lastly, I shape them, lay them all out on a towel and let the brushes dry for several hours.

*Tip- Cream, gel, or liquid products are tough to clean off your brushes. Try squeezing a small amount of shampoo onto your palm and rub the hairs back and forth to dilute the product.

I'm still alive... :)

I haven't posted in a while. Shame on me. I wish I had good solid content to provide you guys with.

I am waiting for some professional pictures to be sent to me from a shoot last month...

No excuses!

But here is some make-up I did on beautiful Kayla. The look I was going for was subtle and natural. I wish the lighting wasn't so terrible!

Inspiration for my studio...

I am turning my spare bedroom into an in home studio. I see this more and more common for freelance make-up artists and photographers. It's a great way to save money (instead of spending $ on a lease) and have a "home" for some of my make-up gigs.

My colors will most likely be purple, white, black and a hint of mint green (since one of the walls is already mint).

Here are some inspiration pictures:
